12 Very Comfy House in Madrid Adorned for Christmas

The simplicity, harmony and warmth typical of the Nordic countries are the hallmarks of this Madrid house, bright, open and very chic, inside and out. With a casual and cozy style, this house located in a residential area on the outskirts of Madrid is charming at first glance. On one floor with access to the garden, the house has an open-plan area in which the living room, dining room and kitchen are distributed, while in another space the private area was located, with the bedroom and the bathroom. Both are separated from the living area by an original double-sided piece of furniture: on the living room side is a bookcase and on the bedroom side, a closet.

The kitchen, distributed in line, with white cabinets and its own integrated window, is a practical and bright area, like the rest of the house thanks to its large windows. The simplicity in the decoration and the presence of textiles of different materials (cashmere, suede, wool …), are in charge of giving it the Nordic and natural touch. Proof that Christmas can be lived with discretion is here: simple decorations, a branch turned into a tree and multiple candles scattered throughout the house in strategic places provide an intimate and cozy atmosphere. This, together with selected vintage and recycled pieces, results in a magical atmosphere, ideal for celebrating the holidays by the fire.

1- Chosen details:

Newly built and loft-style distribution, the young owner of the house was very clear about what she wanted to get from it: a comfortable, cheerful and very bright home.Although structurally no reform was made, the owner carried out a small work as soon as she entered to live, for which she had the help of the company Consultores de Proyectos y Diseños, and the decorator Carolina Verdugo Svensson. A natural wood floor was installed, the walls were painted in a tan tone and the doors in off-white. To make the most of the meters and give privacy to the private area, the decorator opted for custom-made furniture, present in the kitchen and in the original two-sided piece that separates the living room from the bedroom. Regarding the decoration, we opted for simple designs that successfully combine the Nordic, vintage and recycled style. Christmas is present with few elements, but very well chosen, such as the unique little tree.

The entrance gives access to the open space that houses all the rooms of the house: kitchen, dining room, living room and, separated by an original wooden cabinet, the bedroom and the bathroom. In the hall, on the wooden flown console, a simple Christmas decoration was arranged. In the lower part, some baskets store blankets to shelter the exits to the garden. On the wall, an original iron and wood mirror.

4- HYDRAULIC TILES

The kitchen area is delimited by hydraulic tiles that pretend to be a carpet. The furniture, being made-to-measure, facilitated the integration of the small window that overlooks the interior patio by simply placing a shelf.
